The art and craft of knitting has been passed down lovingly through countless generations

My grandmother taught me the Scottish way to knit: secure the right side knitting needle under the right arm (half way between my elbow and my arm-pit). The heal of the right hand palm braces the needle and the index finger of the right hand can focus on wrapping the yarn around the needle. Hold the left needle with the hand over the top, guiding the movement of the right needle tip with the thumb and index finger of the left hand. This gives an even tension and is a faster way to knit!

This may sound complicated, but give it a try and it will soon become more clear and easy!
